This%20year%20the%20FFF+%20Group%20have%20decided%20to%20have%20a%20weekly%20challenge%20called%20%u201CSnap%20Happy%u201D.%20%20A%20different%20theme%20chosen%20by%20a%20member%20of%20the%20group%20each%20week%2C%20and%20the%20image%20is%20to%20be%20posted%20on%20the%20Monday%20of%20the%20week.%0A%0AThis%20week%20the%20theme%2C%20%u201Cyellow%u201D%20was%20chosen%20by%20Andrew%2C%20%3Ca%20href%3D%27/photos/ajhaysom/%27%3Eajhaysom%3C/a%3E.%20%0A%0AWhat%20better%20way%20to%20celebrate%20the%20joy%20of%20yellow%20than%20with%20this%20selection%20of%20yellow%20Wild%20Rose%20Carlton%20Ware%20from%20the%201930s.%20%20Ask%20any%20antique%20dealer%2C%20and%20they%20will%20tell%20you%20the%20most%20common%20response%20from%20people%20when%20they%20see%20cottage%20ware%20varieties%20of%20Carlton%20Ware%20such%20as%20this%20is%3A%20%u201COh%2C%20my%20Mother%20had%20that%21%u201D%20or%20%u201COh%2C%20my%20Grandmother%20had%20that%21%u201D%20%20British%20made%20Carlton%20Ware%20was%20widely%20distributed%20around%20the%20world%2C%20but%20was%20most%20commonly%20sought%20by%20people%20in%20Australia%20and%20New%20Zealand%20when%20it%20was%20produced.%20%20As%20a%20result%2C%20the%20highest%20concentration%20of%20Carlton%20Ware%20anywhere%20in%20the%20world%20is%20Australia%20and%20New%20Zealand.%20%20Some%20items%20were%20even%20produced%20especially%20for%20these%20export%20markets.%0A%0ACarlton%20Ware%20was%20a%20pottery%20manufacturer%20based%20in%20Stoke-on-Trent.%20The%20company%20was%20established%20in%201890%20by%20James%20Frederick%20Wiltshaw%2C%20William%20Herbert%20Robinson%20and%20James%20Alcock%20Robinson%20trading%20under%20the%20name%20of%20Wiltshaw%20and%20Robinson.%20The%20trademark%20%26quot%3BCarlton%20Ware%26quot%3B%20was%20introduced%20in%201894%2C%20and%20the%20company%5C%27s%20factory%20was%20renamed%20the%20Carlton%20Works.%20The%20company%20is%20known%20for%20its%20often%20rather%20garish%20tableware%2C%20often%20in%20the%20form%20of%20highly%20decorated%20leaves%20or%20fruit%2C%20and%20the%20ceramic%20toucans%20it%20made%20as%20promotional%20items%20for%20Guinness.%20%20It%20produced%20hand-painted%20domestic%20pottery%20in%20high%20Art%20Deco%20styles%20during%20the%201920s%20and%201930s.%20During%20the%20late%201930s%20Carlton%20Ware%20introduced%20a%20new%20series%20of%20table-ware%2C%20with%20boldly%20embossed%20floral%20and%20foliage%20patterns%20such%20as%20fox-glove%2C%20buttercup%2C%20anemone%2C%20apple%20blossom%2C%20convulvulous%2C%20poppy%2C%20lily%20and%20wild%20rose.%20This%20series%20continued%20in%20unbroken%20production%20into%20the%201960s%2C%20although%20later%20designs%20were%20progressively%20simplified%20to%20reduce%20the%20high%20cost%20of%20hand-painting.
