A%20year%20later%20the%20King%20took%20to%20himself%20another%20wife.%20%20She%20was%20a%20beautiful%20woman%20with%20elegance%20in%20dress%20and%20grace%20in%20movement%2C%20but%20she%20was%20proud%20and%20arrogant%2C%20and%20she%20could%20not%20stand%20it%20if%20anyone%20might%20surpass%20her%20in%20beauty.%20%20She%20came%20from%20a%20long%20line%20of%20sorceresses%2C%20and%20as%20such%20she%20had%20in%20her%20possession%20a%20magic%20mirror.%20%20Every%20morning%20she%20stood%20before%20it%2C%20looked%20at%20her%20handsome%20face%20in%20its%20reflection%2C%20and%20said%3A%0A%0A%u201CMirror%2C%20mirror%2C%20on%20the%20wall%2C%0AOf%20all%20the%20ladies%20in%20all%20the%20lands%2C%0AWho%20is%20the%20fairest%20of%20them%20all%3F%u201D%0A%0ATo%20this%20the%20mirror%20answered%3A%0A%0A%u201CI%20have%20viewed%20the%20world%20and%20seen%2C%0AThou%20art%20fairest%20of%20all%2C%20my%20Queen.%u201D%0A%0AOnly%20then%20was%20her%20dark%20and%20envious%20heart%20satisfied%2C%20for%20she%20knew%20that%20the%20mirror%20spoke%20only%20the%20truth.%0A%0A%u2018Snow%20White%20and%20the%20Seven%20Dwarfs%u2019%20by%20Jacob%20and%20Wilhelm%20Grimm.%0A%0AThis%20year%20the%20FFF+%20Group%20have%20decided%20to%20have%20a%20weekly%20challenge%20called%20%u201CSnap%20Happy%u201D.%20%20A%20different%20theme%20chosen%20by%20a%20member%20of%20the%20group%20each%20week%2C%20and%20the%20image%20is%20to%20be%20posted%20on%20the%20Monday%20of%20the%20week.%0A%0AThis%20week%20the%20theme%2C%20%u201Creflection%u201D%20was%20chosen%20by%20Beverley%2C%20%3Ca%20href%3D%27/photos/137349496@N06/%27%3EBlueberryAsh%3C/a%3E.%20%20%20%0A%0AAnd%20how%20could%20I%20not%20have%20one%20of%20my%20favourite%20villainesses%20for%20this%20theme%3F%20%20I%20was%20a%20strange%20child%20who%20always%20loved%20the%20villains%20in%20the%20dark%20old%20European%20faerie%20tales%20my%20Grandmother%20and%20Nanny%20used%20to%20tell%20me.%20%20I%20particularly%20liked%20the%20Queen%20from%20Snow%20White%20and%20the%20Seven%20Dwarfs%20because%20she%20was%20aloof%2C%20elegant%20and%20beautiful.%20%20I%20also%20liked%20her%20because%20she%20was%20clever%20and%20tenacious.%20%20We%20all%20know%20that%20Snow%20White%20was%20undone%20by%20a%20poisoned%20apple%2C%20but%20if%20you%20only%20know%20the%20Disney%20version%20of%20this%20tale%2C%20you%20may%20not%20know%20that%20in%20the%20original%2C%20the%20Queen%20tried%20to%20do%20away%20with%20her%20stepdaughter%20four%20times.%20%20Firstly%2C%20she%20tried%20by%20way%20of%20the%20huntsman%20who%20was%20to%20return%20with%20Snow%20White%u2019s%20lungs%20and%20liver%20as%20way%20of%20proof%20of%20her%20death.%20%20When%20that%20failed%2C%20she%20resorted%20to%20do%20away%20with%20the%20child%20herself%20secondly%20by%20lacing%20her%20stays%20so%20tightly%20she%20stopped%20breathing.%20%20When%20that%20failed%20she%20resorted%20to%20her%20witch%u2019s%20arts%20for%20her%20third%20attempt%20with%20a%20comb%20which%20had%20poisoned%20teeth%2C%20and%20then%20finally%20the%20apple%20that%20was%20so%20cleverly%20contrived%20that%20only%20half%20was%20poisoned%2C%20so%20she%20could%20convince%20gullible%20Snow%20White%20that%20it%20was%20safe%20to%20eat.%20%20Now%20that%u2019s%20what%20I%20call%20a%20tenacious%20villainess%21%20%20%0A%0APlaymobil%20is%20a%20line%20of%20toys%20produced%20by%20the%20Brandst%E4tter%20Group%2C%20headquartered%20in%20Zirndorf%2C%20Germany.%20%20Production%20began%20in%201974.%20%20Playmobil%20began%20to%20be%20sold%20worldwide%20in%201975%2C%20and%20by%202009%2C%20approximately%202.2%20billion%20Playmobil%20figures%20had%20been%20sold.%20%20The%20signature%20Playmobil%20toy%20is%20a%207.5%20cm%20tall%20human%20figure%20with%20a%20particular%20smiling%20face.%20%20A%20wide%20range%20of%20accessories%2C%20buildings%20and%20vehicles%2C%20as%20well%20as%20many%20sorts%20of%20animals%2C%20are%20also%20part%20of%20the%20Playmobil%20line.%20%20Playmobil%20toys%20are%20produced%20in%20themed%20series%20of%20sets%20as%20well%20as%20individual%20special%20figures%20and%20playsets.%20%20New%20products%20and%20product%20lines%20developed%20by%20a%2050-strong%20development%20team%20are%20introduced%20frequently%2C%20and%20older%20sets%20are%20discontinued.%20%20Promotional%20and%20one-off%20products%20are%20sometimes%20produced%20in%20very%20limited%20quantities.%20These%20practices%20have%20helped%20give%20rise%20to%20a%20sizeable%20community%20of%20collectors.%20%20The%20Queen%20in%20my%20tableaux%20is%20what%20is%20known%20as%20a%20%u201CPlaymobil%20Special%u201D%20which%20is%20a%20limited%20edition%20figure%20with%20accessories%20sold%20in%20its%20own%20box.%20%20Released%20in%202001%2C%20she%20is%20Playmobil%20set%204591%2C%20known%20as%20the%20%u201CBlack%20Queen%u201D%20and%20her%20face%20is%20painted%20differently%20to%20standard%20Playmobil%20figures%20to%20suggest%20that%20perhaps%20she%20is%20wicked%2C%20or%20mischievous%20at%20least%20with%20her%20shifty%20brown%20eyes%20with%20dark%20eyelashes%21%20%20For%20this%20reason%2C%20she%20is%20highly%20sought%20after%20by%20collectors%20and%20is%20quite%20expensive%20to%20acquire.%20%20Playmobil%20also%20released%20a%20Snow%20White%20and%20the%20Seven%20Dwarfs%20play%20set%20%28set%204211%29%20in%202006%20with%20its%20own%20different%20Queen%20character%2C%20but%20you%20shall%20have%20to%20wait%20for%20another%20day%20to%20see%20what%20she%20looks%20like%21%20
