I%20still%20recall%20how%20few%20of%20us%20there%20were%20when%20I%20first%20arrived%20to%20Flickr.%20%20A%20few%20of%20my%20friends%20from%20Yahoo%20360%20had%20started%20sharing%20photos%20here%20and%20I%20resisted%20until%20I%20realized%20that%20the%20image%20quality%20here%20was%20far%20superior%20than%20Yahoo%20and%20MySpace.%0A%0AAt%20first%20getting%20a%20few%20views%20of%20the%20photo%20each%20day%20was%20the%20standard%20and%20most%2C%20if%20not%20all%20of%20them%2C%20came%20from%20close%20friends.%20%20We%20used%20to%20have%20time%20to%20view%20each%20post%20from%20everyone%20and%20comment%2C%20as%20it%20was%20a%20small%20and%20closed%20virtual%20community.%20%20I%20recall%20that%20during%20those%20early%20years%2C%20Flickr%20would%20feature%20the%20photos%20that%20had%20had%20the%20most%20views%20over%20a%20period%20of%20time%20and%2C%20invariably%2C%20you%20would%20see%20photos%20of%20us%20coming%20up.%20%20How%20come%20that%20a%20social%20network%20conceived%20for%20photographers%20to%20share%20their%20work%20would%20have%20photos%20of%20transgendered%20people%20as%20the%20most%20viewed%3F%20%20Well%2C%20the%20answer%20was%20simple%2C%20we%20were%20very%20interested%20in%20following%20the%20progress%20each%20of%20us%20was%20making%20and%20would%20also%20would%20give%20our%20opinion%20via%20comments.%20%20We%20had%20created%20a%20niche%20of%20people%20to%20whom%20photography%20was%20very%20important%20not%20necessarily%20as%20an%20art%2C%20but%20as%20the%20medium%20through%20which%20we%20could%20document%20our%20art%20of%20feminine%20illusion%20or%20expressing%20that%20hidden%20personality%20that%20could%20not%20be%20shared%20with%20others.%20%20I%20can%20only%20imagine%20Flicker%27s%20disappointment%20when%20they%20noticed%20that%20the%20most%20viewed%20and/or%20commented%20images%20were%20about%20a%20topics%20that%20were%20different%20from%20what%20they%20originally%20intended.%20%20It%20was%20not%20surprising%20to%20me%20that%20they%20eventually%20stopped%20considering%20out%20photos%20and%20eventually%20changed%20their%20approach%20to%20the%20way%20they%20do%20it%20today.%20%20Despite%20all%20that%2C%20Flickr%20never%20considered%20banning%20us%20from%20their%20platform%20and%20allowed%20us%20to%20keep%20a%20community%20that%2C%20over%20the%20years%2C%20kept%20growing%20exponentially%20to%20what%20it%20is%20today.%0A%0AEach%20of%20those%20who%20have%20witnessed%20this%20growth%2C%20not%20only%20here%20but%20in%20all%20social%20networks%2C%20will%20confirm%20that%20getting%2050%20views%20a%20day%20was%20a%20big%20deal.%20%20Then%20came%20the%20days%20of%20hundreds%20of%20views%20and%20today%20it%20is%20thousands%20of%20views%20a%20day.%20%20This%20weekend%20I%20reached%20the%20100%20million%20photo%20views%20landmark%20but%2075%25%20%20of%20them%20have%20been%20over%20the%20last%20five%20years.%20As%20being%20TG%20is%20more%20accepted%20by%20society%20and%20being%20somehow%20hidden%20is%20no%20longer%20an%20issue%20for%20most%2C%20platforms%20like%20Instagram%20are%20more%20appealing%20to%20young%20girls%20who%20are%20very%20open%20about%20their%20being%20TG.%20%20Those%20of%20us%20who%20are%20too%20old%20to%20change%20and%20still%20have%20too%20much%20to%20loose%2C%20are%20comfortable%20with%20sharing%20our%20%26quot%3Bsecret%26quot%3B%20persona%20here%20or%20in%20Facebook.%20%20However%2C%20with%20a%20broader%20audience%2C%20the%20niche%20in%20which%20we%20shared%20our%20photos%20%28most%20within%20the%20confines%20of%20our%20homes%29%20has%20also%20expanded%20and%20there%20is%20a%20very%20blurred%20line%20between%20what%20is%20considered%20TG%20and%20what%20is%20considered%20fetishism%20or%20even%20pornography.%20%20I%20guess%20it%20is%20up%20to%20each%20of%20us%20to%20filter%20out%20what%20we%20considered%20out%20of%20our%20scope%20and%20even%20disgusting%20or%20offensive.%20%20I%20would%20never%20judge%20and%20as%20long%20as%20I%20get%20respect%2C%20I%20will%20give%20back%20respect.%20%20In%20the%20end%2C%20each%20group%20will%20find%20a%20smaller%20niche%20within%20each%20niche%2C%20as%20is%20the%20case%20in%20real%20life.%0A%0ATo%20illustrate%20how%20exponential%20the%20growth%20has%20been%2C%20here%20is%20a%20list%20of%20dates%20in%20which%20I%20reached%20some%20landmarks%2C%20in%20terms%20of%20views.%0A%0ADecember%2C%202009%2C%20after%204.5%20years%20in%20Flickr%2C%20I%20reached%20the%205%20million%20total%20views%20mark%20%283.2%20million%20photo%20views%29%0A%0A%3Ca%20href%3D%22https%3A//www.flickr.com/photos/cristy98girl/4248063381%22%3Ewww.flickr.com/photos/cristy98girl/4248063381%3C/a%3E%0A%0A%0AAugust%202012%2C%20after%206%20years%20in%20Flickr%2C%20I%20reached%20the%2010%20million%20total%20views%20mark%20%286.1%20million%20photo%20views%29%0A%0A%3Ca%20href%3D%22https%3A//www.flickr.com/photos/cristy98girl/7782491314%22%3Ewww.flickr.com/photos/cristy98girl/7782491314%3C/a%3E%0A%0A%0AApril%202014%2C%20after%208%20years%20in%20Flickr%2C%20I%20reached%20the%2020%20million%20total
