A%20pretty%20productive%20year%20for%20me%20this%20year.%0A%0AObviously%20COVID%20had%20a%20big%20impact%2C%20and%20though%20I%20was%20still%20working%20as%20hard%20as%20ever%2C%20it%20was%20nice%20not%20to%20have%20to%20drive%20to%20work%20every%20day.%0A%0AThere%20are%20no%20monthly%20LUGNuts%20challenges%20these%20days%2C%20but%20I%20do%20find%20it%20helpful%20to%20set%20build%20themes%20and%20force%20myself%20to%20build%20vehicles%20that%20are%20a%20less%20obvious%20choice.%0A%0AThere%20were%20fewer%20themes%20this%20year%2C%20as%20some%20of%20them%20covered%20multiple%20months.%0A%0AThe%20first%20theme%20was%20to%20build%20a%20new%20variant%20of%20an%20existing%20model%2C%20from%20each%20manufacturer%20that%20I%20had%20built%20previously.%20This%20took%20me%20through%20to%20the%20end%20of%20May%2C%20and%20over%20one%20hundred%20cars.%0A%0AThe%20second%20theme%20covered%20the%20top-selling%20vehicles%20in%20Australia%20for%202019%2C%20and%20included%20my%20first%20Hyundai%20and%20Kia%20models%20in%20recent%20memory.%0A%0AThe%20third%20theme%20was%20a%20bit%20more%20interesting.%20I%20frequently%20design%20cars%20as%20a%20modification%20of%20a%20previously%20built%20model.%20This%20third%20theme%20was%20to%20build%20new%20cars%20ground%20up%20-%20all%20new%20platforms%2C%20new%20techniques.%20%0A%0AThis%20morphed%20rapidly%20into%20the%20fourth%20theme%20-%20Italian%20cars%20with%20UCS%20engine%20models.%20There%20are%20some%20obscure%2C%20but%20very%20interesting%20builds%20in%20this%20theme.%0A%0AThe%20fifth%20theme%20-%20%27All%20Ford%20Day%27%2C%20looked%20to%20flesh%20out%20most%20of%20the%20current%20Ford%20Motor%20Company%20products%20that%20I%20hadn%27t%20already%20built.%20Not%20many%20sedans%20or%20coupes%20left%2C%20but%20plenty%20of%20Crossovers.%0A%0AThe%20sixth%20theme%2C%20which%20was%20built%20through%20October%20-%20traditionally%20the%20LUGNuts%20anniversary%20month%2C%20went%20back%20an%20visited%20the%20LUGNuts%20themes%2C%20and%20were%20either%20%27Requests%27%20which%20had%20been%20coming%20through%2C%20or%20models%20which%20I%20had%20listed%20for%20previous%20October%20anniversary%20builds%2C%20but%20not%20followed%20through%20on.%20This%20included%20the%20Cadillac%20Cyclone%20concept%20car%2C%20and%20the%20Ed%20Roth%20%27Mysterion%27.%20Also%2C%20my%20first%20serious%20attempt%20at%20rebricking%20a%20Lego%20set%2C%20with%20%20an%20Auburn%20851%20Boat-tail%20Speedster%20%28think%20Indiana%20Jones%29%20from%20the%20Creator%20Expert%20FIAT%20500.%0A%0AThe%20seventh%20theme%20was%20%27Redo%20%26amp%3B%20Redemption%27%20-%20a%20chance%20to%20redesign%20some%20of%20my%20previous%20models.%0A%0AAnd%20theme%20eight%20was%20an%20opportunity%20to%20replicate%20some%20artwork%20created%20this%20year%20by%20LUGNuts%20founder%20Lino%20Martins%2C%20but%20in%20Lego%20form.%0A%0AIn%20all%2C%20around%20300%20builds%20-%20hence%20the%20very%20tiny%20thumbnail%20images.%0A%0AHappy%20New%20Year%20and%20great%20building%20for%202021%21%0A
