PADDY%3A%20%20%u201CHullo%20Scout%21%u201D%0A%0ACOUSIN%20PADDINGTON%3A%20%20%u201CHullo%20Scout%21%u201D%0A%0ASCOUT%3A%20%20%u201CHullo%20Paddy%20and%20Cousin%20Paddington.%u201D%0A%0ACOUSIN%20PADDINGTN%3A%20%20%u201CWe%20were%20just%20about%20to%20sit%20down%20and%20read%20a%20faerie%20story%2C%20and%20we%20thought%20you%20might%20like%20to%20join%20us%2C%20little%20Scout.%u201D%0A%0ASCOUT%3A%20%20%u201COh%20that%u2019s%20very%20kind%20of%20you%20Cousin%20Paddington%2C%20but%20I%u2019m%20a%20little%20bit%20busy%20at%20the%20moment.%u201D%0A%0APADDY%3A%20%20%u201CWhat%20are%20you%20doing%2C%20Scout.%u201D%0A%0ASCOUT%3A%20%20%u201CWell%20Paddy%2C%20I%20heard%20that%20the%20FFF+%20Snap%20Happy%20group%20theme%20this%20week%20is%20%u2018fur%20and%20feathers%u2019.%20%20I%20thought%20to%20myself%2C%20well%20I%20am%20furry%2C%20and%20I%20wanted%20to%20show%20everyone%20at%20the%20FFF+%20my%20collection%20of%20pretty%20feathers.%u201D%0A%0ACOUSIN%20PADDINGTON%3A%20%20%u201CThat%20certainly%20is%20a%20very%20pretty%20collection%20of%20feathers%2C%20little%20Scout%21%u201D%0A%0ASCOUT%3A%20%20%u201CThank%20you%20Cousin%20Paddington.%20%20I%20have%20some%20from%20the%20doves%2C%20blackbirds%20and%20lorikeets%20that%20visit%20our%20garden%2C%20and%20some%20are%20feathers%20I%20have%20found%20when%20Paddy%2C%20Daddy%20and%20I%20have%20gone%20for%20a%20walk.%u201D%0A%0APADDY%3A%20%20%u201CI%20think%20that%u2019s%20a%20very%20good%20idea%20for%20this%20week%u2019s%20Snap%20Happy%20theme%2C%20Scout.%20%20Well%20done%20for%20thinking%20of%20it%21%20%20I%20shall%20go%20and%20ask%20Daddy%20to%20take%20a%20photograph%2C%20as%20I%20am%20sure%20they%20will%20all%20be%20pleased%20to%20see%20us%2C%20and%20your%20wonderful%20collection%20of%20feathers%21%u201D%0A%0AThis%20year%20the%20FFF+%20Group%20have%20decided%20to%20have%20a%20weekly%20challenge%20called%20%u201CSnap%20Happy%u201D.%20%20A%20different%20theme%20chosen%20by%20a%20member%20of%20the%20group%20each%20week%2C%20and%20the%20image%20is%20to%20be%20posted%20on%20the%20Monday%20of%20the%20week.%0A%0AThis%20week%20the%20theme%2C%20%u201Cfur%20and%20feathers%u201D%20was%20chosen%20by%20Margaret%2C%20%3Ca%20href%3D%27/photos/pocket_rocket1/%27%3EThe%20Pocket%20Rocket%3C/a%3E.%0A%0AScout%20was%20right.%20%20I%20thought%20it%20was%20an%20excellent%20idea%20to%20photograph%20Paddy%2C%20Scout%20and%20Cousin%20Paddington%2C%20who%20all%20have%20plush%20or%20woollen%20fur%2C%20along%20with%20Scout%u2019s%20collection%20of%20beautiful%20feathers.%20%20I%u2019m%20sure%20you%20will%20agree%20that%20it%20is%20perfect%20for%20the%20theme%21%0A%0AThe%20little%20lacquered%20box%20that%20Scout%20keeps%20his%20collection%20of%20feathers%20in%20is%20a%20Russian%20box%20painted%20in%20the%20Palekh%20style%20which%20I%20spotted%20buried%20in%20a%20box%20of%20odds%20and%20ends%20at%20an%20auction.%20%20It%20comes%20from%20Palekh%20with%20is%20the%20administrative%20centre%20of%20Palekhsky%20District%20of%20Ivanovo%20Oblast%20in%20Russia.%20%20It%20depicts%20a%20scene%20from%20the%20Alexander%20Pushkin%20faerie%20tale%20%u2018The%20Dead%20Princess%20and%20the%20Seven%20Heroes%u2019%2C%20which%20is%20a%20derivative%20of%20Snow%20White%20and%20the%20Seven%20Dwarfs.%20%20In%20the%20story%20Prince%20Elissei%20is%20betrothed%20to%20the%20Princess%20before%20her%20stepmother%20the%20Tsarina%20tries%20to%20have%20her%20killed.%20%20Prince%20Elissei%20rides%20to%20the%20Great%20North%20Wind%20to%20ask%20him%20to%20help%20find%20his%20missing%20betrothed%2C%20and%20this%20is%20what%20is%20shown%20on%20the%20box.%20%20Through%20the%20wind%u2019s%20help%2C%20Elissei%20finds%20his%20betrothed%2C%20but%20only%20after%20she%20has%20been%20poisoned%20by%20the%20apple%20given%20her%20by%20the%20disguised%20Tsarina.%20%20The%20Princess%20is%20protected%20by%20seven%20brothers%2C%20all%20strapping%20fighting%20heroes%2C%20who%20have%20taken%20her%20in%20as%20her%20sister%20%28a%20difference%20from%20the%20Grimm%20version%20featuring%20the%20seven%20dwarfs%29.%20%20The%20rest%20of%20the%20story%20you%20will%20know%2C%20as%20it%20leads%20to%20a%20happy%20ending%20for%20Prince%20Elissei%20and%20his%20betrothed.%20%0A%0AMy%20Paddington%20Bear%20came%20to%20live%20with%20me%20in%20London%20when%20I%20was%20two%20years%20old%20%28many%2C%20many%20years%20ago%29.%20%20He%20was%20hand%20made%20by%20my%20Great%20Aunt%20and%20he%20has%20a%20chocolate%20coloured%20felt%20hat%2C%20the%20brim%20of%20which%20had%20to%20be%20pinned%20up%20by%20a%20safety%20pin%20to%20stop%20it%20getting%20in%20his%20eyes.%20%20The%20collar%20of%20his%20mackintosh%20is%20made%20of%20the%20same%20felt.%20%20He%20wears%20wellington%20boots%20made%20from%20the%20same%20red%20leather%20used%20to%20make%20the%20toggles%20on%20his%20mackintosh.%20%20%0A%0AHe%20has%20travelled%20with%20me%20across%20the%20world%20and%20he%20and%20I%20have%20had%20many%20adventures%20together%20over%20the%20years.%20%20He%20is%20a%20very%20precious%20member%20of%20my%20small%20family.%0A%0AScout%20was%20a%20gift%20to%20Paddy%20from%20my%20friend.%20%20He%20is%20a%20Fair%20Trade%20Bear%20hand%20knitted%20in%20Africa.%20%20His%20name%20comes%20from%20the%20shop%20my%20friend%20found%20him%20in%3A%20Scout%20House.%20%20He%20tells%20me%20that%20life%20was%20very%20different%20where%20he%20came%20from%2C%20and%20Paddy%20is%20helping%20introduce%20him%20to%20many%20new%20experiences.%20%20Scout%20catches%20on%20quickly%2C%20and%20has%20proven%20to%20be%20a%20cheeky%2C%20but%20very%20lovable%20member%20of%20our%20closely%20knit%20family.%0A%0ACousin%20Paddington%20is%20a%20recent%20visitor%20to%20our%20family.%20%20Travelling%20all%20the%20way%20from%20London%2C%20he%20was%20caught%20in%20transit%20thanks%20to%20the%20Coronavirus%20pandemic%2C%20so%20it%20looks%20like%20he%20is%20stopping%20with%20us%20for%20a%20while.%20%20The%20more%20I%20look%20into%20his%20happy%2C%20smiling%20face%2C%20the%20more%20attached%20I%20am%20becoming%20to%20him.%20%20
